Having even more ancillary achievement points on top of that doesn't really freshen up the formula in a meaningful way. Many of the game's side missions are built around collecting 10 High Value Targets, or destroying a certain number of buildings, which already feel a bit like Achievement errands. Most of the achievements in the 360 version of the game are pretty straightforward and don't do all that much to enhance the experience. The PS3 version doesn't have any achievements or Trophy support at this time. The 360 version features 40 achievements to keep Gamer Score conscious players coming back for more. The PS2 version of the game doesn't offer any multiplayer whatsoever, so fans looking for some multiplayer mayhem won't find as much of a value. This mode is limited to two players and offers a basic set of options for filtering for missions and areas. The PS3 and 360 versions of the game also feature an online mode, which allows players to go through 52 separate missions from the game co-operatively. The general story progression and setting is the same, but the mission goals are generally much more simplified and the overworld map is a good deal more limited than the PS3 and 360 versions. The PS3 and 360 versions offer identical single player experiences while the PS2 version is an entirely different game. You'll be able to progress through the games main story missions, doing random sidequests, or just exploring the world to see what kind of explosive destruction you can create. The core of the game is focused on the single player campaign where players will have free access to roam around a sprawling Venezuelan city and surrounding countryside. mercs2_082908_h2h Features Mercenaries 2 is a relatively straightforward experience on all platforms. As Hilary Goldstein said in his review, " Mercenaries 2: World in Flames is about blowing s*** up. Fans of the original will find a very familiar experience with World in Flames. The original Mercenaries built on the open world Grand Theft Auto structure by paring away the non-essential missions to make more room for explosions and epic gun fights. ![]() Mercenaries 2: World in Flames is a sequel to one of last generations most surprising sleeper hits. We break down each segment of a game, and then tell you which platform reigns supreme when the dust settles. I tested this and with mouse and keyboard you get roughly a 1 second gap to pick an item up before it even registers to a pc using a controller. The Head-to-Head is designed to let gamers know which version of a multiplatform game is worth your hard-earned money. Without any chance of being able to contend the pickup using a controller. But i can say mouse and keyboarders get atleast 1 second difference to the point where i see the items barely hit the ground before a mouse and keyboard picks it up. Im assuming they do this because picking up items with a controller is mindlessly easy. The biggest issue i noticed is when i was on controller i would have delayed drops compared to mouse and keyboarders. ![]() Im sure you can customize hotkeys for most of this when the game releases.Ĭontesting item drop issue with controller. Having to go through the start button everytime was very time consuming and slow. Kept wanting to customize hotkey to see party or quest so i could find where the party was located in a new game since there were mutiple tp’s. Moving items in and out of stash was slow and you should be allowed to transfer an item instantly with a button. I kept wanting to hold left or right trigger to toggle items on ground so i would avoid picking items up in certain situations but toggling isn’t an option. Managing pots was a slow process and starting out my attack button was the same as the pickup item button, which caused me randomly picking up items instead of attacking and visa versa. I played a sorc to level 23 only on controller for pc.
